This barlow says it was made in Effingham, IL so I assume it it was made by Blackjack. What relationship, if any, does it have to Bob Cargill and his Cripple Creek brand? Thanks.

From my limited understanding Blackjack had the rights to the name for a few years and Bob got it back, early 90's IIRC.

The Blackjack models do not seem to be as collectable as the true Cargill's.

But to answer your question, to my knowledge Bob had nothing to do with the knives when Blackjack was making them so aside from brand name they have very little in common aside from materials possibly.

Edited to add: nice looking knife!

From information in another post, at another forum....to the best I can recall.....

Bob Cargill actually worked for Mike Stewart at BJK, after he sold the Cripple Creek brand to Blackjack, overseeing the production of Little Indian 10 (LI-10) folding knives. I don't believe things went too well, IIRC.

I believe Fred's knife was actually made for Blackjack by Queen (circa '93-'95?).

Just trying to help.

Thanks, gents. It is a pretty knife and I'm happy to have it in my collection. It wasn't expensive either-about the price of a Queen barlow. Take care.
