A few years ago I bought a Rob Criswell Katana, I believe 28" model, as a gift and remember it as a very stout sword. What niche market do they serve, as it certainly wasn't trying to compete in the replica market. I suppose it was a 'user' sword, but with so many more realistic (or: "real") swords out there I can't get it straight in this aging brain of mine just where is following comes from. Any insight appreciated:confused:

It's in the same general area with the Busse combat katana that is it's a sword for those guys that want something that is tough and "tactical."

Makes sense, but do people really carry those, or is this just fantasy land for all concerned?

Well... collector's item. Backyard cutting and so forth. Not sure, but there was a review on Swordforum.

Carry as in on them every day for self defense? Well not many rational people anyway...:) As was noted there are collectors and people who like to practice cutting as well as the "fantasy land" types.
