Summer camp is fun, but summer camping at Camp Jay is a real experience. Imagine a camp where food and water are plentiful, as are the many little critters who come to visit. Friends of all ages are welcome; with one main rule to keep in mind
dont get too scientific with things, rather, keep it light and simple!
At Camp Jay, blue sky and the sun are not as popular Jay likes rain.

After a short hike into camp Jay, were giving the ground rules, made camp, and then fire, wood processing, stories, hunkering down under a tarp, all the while, hoping for the storm that was looming!
Welcome to camp JAY

Making camp

My dwelling

Still rocking the carabiner kit on my belt loop. Covers basic navigation, signaling, fire, and cutting tools.

At Camp Jay, we drink our brew out of glasses and while Im practicing sipping coffee with me pinky out seems I still need practice!

So many critters at camp Jay!

A knocked over stump revealed what would soon become, Jays appetizer

On my bivy

We made fire, but soon a harsh shower came down on us, making us have to create a roof of logs over the flame Siberian Fire-Lay Style!

Blueberry or wild grape?

Dinner

Our water source

I used an old balloon and cut off top of a water bottle as my emergency water scoope, especially since there was no real flow to speak of

The elusive Hemlock!

Once Jay cracked open the Bullet Bourbon critters came all the way down from the creek, even the little mouse made a brief appearance!

Thunderstorms woke us, I guess Jay got his wish and all the rain dances payed off! The overnight showers cooled down the fire to the point of needing to start a new one in the morning.

My balloon water scooper doubles as a pastime of shooting thin, straight witch hazel arrows

Hiking out of Camp Jay had many surprises that raised only questions few answers!

A little nature to wave us on our way!
