CRK’s and flashlights. How do you carry?

Hey guys. I used to carry a CF handled knife, pen light and a mini champ in my RF pocket. Metal handled knives rubbing against flashlights all day long, neither tool wins that fight. I don’t want to carry a light on my belt as I already have my cell phone and pistol. How or what do you guys carry that wouldn’t clash with the titanium bead blasted finish (rough) but is bright enough for most EDC or even nightly tasks say across the yard and whatnot?

Unless you’re carrying a flashlight for some serious usage, the keychain light market is pretty robust these days. I carried a nebo mycro for the longest time, and replaced it with a fenix e09r. Both carried clipped to a belt loop along with a short titanium bolt action pen (nerd alert, I know). Nebo was nice, but has no lockout. If I carry a knife in rf pocket, I’m carrying a pistol iwb. Car keys usually go in rf with knife. If I’m carrying my 380 in the rf pocket, pocket knife goes in a cargo pocket, or just don’t carry a knife if i don’t have cargo pockets

I already carry a bunch of keys on a carabiner and have had to clean the lanyard up a bit. When walking, the longer things in the key rings would “bump” my nether region which got quite annoying. Having the key ring behind me would often result in getting hung up on product stacked belt level or higher on pallets, so the keys need to stay in front of me. The way they are now there is no bumping.

I carry my large 31 and Minichamp RF, keys on a carabiner which has a few other essentials on it. My phone is either in my LF pocket or in a phone holster at my 3 o clock. My ridge Wallet in my RR pocket and if I’m carrying, that’s either IWB or OWB at 5 o clock.

While my knife is clipped inside my main pocket, I keep my Surfire Titan Plus clipped inside the watch pocket. So the two never interact. It has three brightness settings all the way up to 300 lumens. So it may be small but it means business.

I have an olight baton 2 that used to have a pocket clip clipped right next to the knife. Lost the clip so now it floats around the bottom of my pocket. Too small to fill the pocket up enough to touch the knife so it still works for me. I have a small set of keys. Flashlight, prybar, and knife in rf pocket and my wallet in lf pocket

How or what do you guys carry...
Custom leather! If the solution is not immediately apparent to you, dream one up and have it made. I've had several pieces made by Thors Hammer Custom Leather, based in Tuscon, AZ. I am in no way affiliated with him and I paid full price for all of this kit. Since I've standardized my flashlights around HDS and my knives around the CRK large Sebenza, it's been easy to accumulate a number of carry options, depending on need and mode of dress.

On the left is a double HDS pocket slip, accompanied by a CRK belt sheath on the right. They were made the same color, but the pocket slip is older and looks darker. EDC pocket organizers are common these days, but I don't like for the sheath maker to dictate the tools I can carry.

This one allows for discreet carry of two HDS flashlights on my belt. The rig hides easily under a shirt tail.

This one was made to openly belt carry one HDS and one Sebenza.

The one in the background is for left hand carry of a single HDS. In the foreground, the horizontal sheath is for 1 O'Clock carry of a Sebenza. Both conceal under a shirt.

Not a great photo but I think you can see that my flashlight (thank you CHNeal) sits in a pocket slip with my Fisher Space pen. My Mnandi sits in a similar one. Both slips were made by my wife and while not fancy they work quite well.

Knife in pocket, flashlight in briefcase!

Doesn't really answer your question but that's how I do it granted I rarely need the flashlight...

Gotta carry my cf 31 for 10 more months and finish my year. That’s been the hardest part about that challenge my collection has doubled in size and I’m not rotating any of my new knives in

Flashlight in right front pocket and folder in right rear pocket. Folder sometimes in the front coin jeans pocket when I need to be a bit more discreet.

I carry the CRK (or another modern folder if its a cheat day) clipped to my right front pocket. SAK, flashlight, notepad, pen, and bandaids ride in a leather pocket organizer either in that same pocket or in my jacket pocket.

Primary folder gets clipped in the usual position, right front pocket. Flashlight goes on the left and gets used with the left hand, keeping the right hand free. That's how I've always done it, and it's just second nature at this point. More specifically, my favorite pants are the Vertx Delta Stretch, and they have small dedicated "knife" pockets just behind the regular front pocket; in the left goes the flashlight, and in the right goes the Swisstool. Flashlight for the better part of two decades now ( back since they were incandescent) is the Surefire Aviator with red secondary beam (such a useful feature that I can no longer live without it in a light). I do have a couple of the newer keychain sized lights (Rovyvon, Olight, etc.) but 9 times out of 10 the tried and true Aviator is in my pocket as well. I like to attach those smaller ones to SAK's or even sometimes use the clips on them as makeshift clips for SAK's, and carry them in my LF pocket as well.

Vertx Delta pants (the Swisstool doesn't stick out, that was just for purposes of the picture at the time). These pants don't scream tactical, they pretty much just wear like jeans but better for activity. Those little pockets though are a game changer for flashlights and multi-tools IMO.

Obligatory pic of CRK with aforementioned Surefire Aviator

Something like this (Rovyvon Aurora) attached to the minichamp and clipped into the LF pocket packs a whole bunch of utility without taking up much real estate at all.
