I do not think there is a more important video (for CRK nuts) on Youtube than this one. It is CRK heavy, but not CRK specific. It is some life advice that I felt was very appropriate and very generous in it's empathy for folks like us who invest heavily in gear. CRK's ain't cheap, and when they are right or wrong emotions can run high. This video is really the antidote.

I couldn't recommend it enough:

Should be titled, "How to deal with Butt Hurtt" in the knife hobby.

"Taking a Bath" should be the first rule everyone learns:)

Cured me of Inkosi lust... at least for now... he could be wrong.

Pretty good video.... Especially about taking a bath, buying used, and keeping it real.... nothing profound but a good summary..

He's pretty much right on the money on expensive hobbies in general. I've lived by these rules for some time now.

It was a good list. I think one of the biggest points was to people that think they are buying the last knife they will ever want do to high price. It just does not work that way with knives, watches, guns, or what ever. It just ends up being the gateway to an more expensive collection. There is never just "one" of something that fills all needs. His point about at some point you are going to take a bath on one or more is so true also. Buying used helps, but if everybody only buys used CRK would be out of business. Even buying used does not guarantee not taking a loss. One CRK I sold I made $50 on. I have also had about $200 total lost on the rest of the sales I did. So as of today I am at -$150. If I ever need to sell the one I got today it will be a loss since I bought it retail. With enough time and the right choices a person can come out ahead on the balance sheet but its best not to expect it in this hobby.

I like bathing. PERIOD.

I think his voice is going to haunt me, but it was a video that does ring true. I feel at this stage of my life I already know and live by most of these rules and more. My career kind of dictates that I MUST live by these rules.. so carrying over to gear collecting and using is easier for me...

SPEND MONEY AND ENJOY THE BATH!
