:D Well Heather from CRK called today and my Sebenza 21 Micarta with Spyrograph Damascus and double lugs is on the way!

I ordered this in Jan and expected a 9-12 mth wait on the Damascus,but to my surprise it only took roughly 3 mths.Really looking forward to getting this one and will be my second large Sebenza.

I will post pics when she arrives in a few days.

Oh man!!! Please post pics. Damascus on a micarta Sebbie is one of my favorites.
 
With the economy in the crapper, my guess is there's a bunch of cancelled orders and you moved up to the front of the line. Hope CRK is weathering the storm. This thing seems to get worse instead of better. Just seen a story about falling customer confidence. Falling from what, zero??

Anyhoo, back on topic... You gotta post pics when this thing arrives. Also, do a teardown. I wanna see if CRK is using the new perforated washers in the Sebs yet. Great choice, the large. Perfect size. I just ran across another small and I'm reminded why I got rid of the other one I had. Great quality but the size is all wrong.

Congrats on the score. Now for the arrival countdown.... Tick tock.... :D
 
I got my call from Heather yesterday. Small sebenza with bloodwood inlays is on its way. My new office edc knife.
 
Thanks guys,,yea i'll be sure to post pics as soon as it arrives,,probaly early next week.This is pretty much my dream EDC,,,Yea im going to EDC this damascus blade,,,it will be cool checking it out every time i use her.
 
That's real good news. 3 months is not bad at all especially when you were expecting a year. Gets me excited ill get mine real soon too. Just gotta remember to keep extra money on the side. Looking forwardd to seeing your knife. Don't think I've seen that configuration yet.

That is spectacular news. Thanks much. I hope they have someone at the factory keeping track of these "rolling" changes. Ask the Spyderco crew, in the (very near) future people are gonna want to know these seemingly arcane facts. If I was working in the Spyderco (or CRK) qc department and wasn't specifically required to keep notes, believe me, I'd do so anyway. Meticulous day-to-day records. Every variation, every little change. It would all be dated and logged. These forums are good for checking this kind of info for right now, but the future collector is going to go crosseyed going thru all this stuff, trying to determine when perfed washers were blended into the Seb lineup. The collector of tomorrow is gonna want this info, and he'll want it enough to pay for it. You heard it here. Cheers.

Did I miss something? Is this something new? I thought CRK was already using the new washers. My large 21 micarta built last year has them :confused:.
 
Yeah mine from 2010 already had perforated washers. I think they started in Dec 2009.

I'm thinking about the small Seb, did you find it too small? I don't need anything to big, I have fixed blades that fit that role.

I think i am going to jump on this Damascus band wagon as well. I agree that the Micarta's with some sort of Damascus look fantastic.
