Well, the family came through again...my wife (newly wedded on 10/29
) and parents chipped in and bought me a CRK carbon fiber small Sebenza. Mine is # 25/50.
Absolutely love the knife after carrying it all week.
It's a great size. Love the Ti and Carbon Fiber; two of my favorite materials for scales.
First impressions were great:
- Good size; not too big or small
- Stonewashed blade is always a plus
- Carbon fiber looks great. Love the side profile with where you can see all of the grains
- Lock up is awesome. Great "click" upon opening
- Tolerances are simply awesome. I don't have any other knives that have such little blade play and tight tolerances between the scales and blade closure.
Initially, I was a little surprised at how "tight" the knife was to open. However, I've been working with it all week and it gets easier to open each time; very smooth now. My daily carry over the past year has varied between the gold class carbon fiber Griptillian, Kershaw Ti & ZDP Cyclones and Leek, Spyderco Mini-Manix and Sage, and another recent acquisition; a William Henry carbon fiber ED10-3.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the knife and happy to have my first Chris Reeve.
I'll try to get some pics up soon.
