As the title says , got these two in the mail today.
Now, I think the pocketclip is very well made, maybe the best in the knife business, bit I still don't care for pocketclips. They make the knife visible and will eventually ruin your clothes if you keep the knife clipped at the same place, pulling it out/putting it back over a substantial period of time. For me, I feel the slip sheath is the way to go and I'll try it out and see how we get along. I've also ordered a horizontal/vertical belt sheath from RMB Custom Leather, which I hope will turn out nice. This one: http://www.rmbcl.com/leather-case-small-horizontal-vertical-carry-case22/
Clip insert:
Disappointed! Main reason; it's WAY more light in colour than the slabs of my knife! I believed it would be the exact same kind of grey.. Ok, I guess I could live with that was my initial thoughts. But when I noticed the head of the screw, holding the insert down, and how far out it sticks relative to the other 3 countersunk screws, I really started to question the whole deal. I know it's the same screw that sits on the clip, but with the clip gone it's a big wart on the side profile of the lockside scale. It's also very easy to notice through the slip sheath leather. In a perfect world, the insert should have been the same colour as the slabs and the screw should be countersunk into the insert and have the same headsize as the other 3 screws on the knife... Now THAT would be perfection! I'm leaving the knife clip- and insert free for now.
Slip sheath:
Great!! I love it! Very nice leather, perfect fit and very very well made. I decided to use this out of 3 reaons; 1 - I want to protect my front jeans pocket against the titanium slabs, I believe they will wear it out if the knife stays in there every day. 2 - It protects my knife from pocket lint, not such a big deal but nevetheless. 3 - The sheath will keep the knife more in one place, without it it would spinn aroud and make me have to adjust the way it sits in my pocket more often.
A tip to make the sheath mould very fast around your knife: Keep the sheathed knife in your back jeans pocket for a whole evening sitting in a couch or in your computer chair. The heat & pressure from your bum will get the job done!
