I recently aquired, in a BF trade, a great little knife from a great BF member (Jaxxsun). It's a small Sebenza with Micarta inlays. Near the lanyard hole, on the presentation side, it has a very well done "1785" lightly engraved in it. I would love to hear the history of this knife if anyone knows the back story. I'm pretty sure it didn't leavd the CRK shop like this. I'm very happy with this particular knife and carry it often, but I always wonder what kind of cool story may accompany it. If anyone knows or has any thoughts I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

If it didn't leave the shop that way, wouldnt asking the previous owner be the logical place to start?

Hi You may have some luck over on the CRK forum, there are lots of knowledgeable and fanatical owners and collectors over there that would likely have some good input.

Thanks! Can this be moved over there, or shoul I repost it?

I tried that. He didn't know.

I suppose you asked if he remembered who he got it from!

Good luck with this one. It will be interesting to see if where that etch came from can be tracked down using the members here.

You would think that number would have come up in the description of the knife when it was sold somewhere along the line.

Anybody? "thegamettt", where are you? Got anything on the prior owner/owners?

I think a lot of us have seen the listing of the knife you are taking about. What it means? I don't know. I'd send some pictures to CRK and see if they have any answers. Try to post some pics here as well.

Here you go.

It's the production year. Sebenzas have been around nearly forever!...;-)
