The CRK Sebenza's I've had, the birth date was inside the handle code dating range. That said I've seen mis-matching quarter dates, for example A&B or B&C within the same year. I have read that some birth dates are outside the handle date coding, but I was wondering what is the largest gap found between a handle code and the birth date card ?

I have a handle with both dated B-11 (lefties seem more likely to match.) But the birth card was March if 2012.

I found one that had a 10-12 month difference and was wondering if that was rare or semi-common.

I don,t know the answer, but since the scale batch date stamp is not directly correlated to the birth date there is a potential for a wide gap. A scale could be misplaced or on Chris's or Tim's desk and out of circulation. Then putback into the production line.

Understood... Same kind of things happen with dating Fender guitars.

Yeah, like W WedgeAntilles said, it’s more common with left handed knives. It’s not uncommon for the slabs and card to be different by months. Don’t know about the 31’s.
CRK have the slabs made, stamped and an inventory on hand. Don’t know if that holds true today, seems like they can’t make them fast enough to have any sort of inventory.
I couldn’t copy the link, but it has been brought up before FYI, you’ll have to use the search function to read the thread.

Lefty Sebenza 21 date code question

This one is from 2009-2010 if that makes a difference...

Yes it does. Back then, there were plenty of 21’s for sale and production probably wasn’t at full capacity. So, it would not be uncommon
