Got a call from Heather today saying she was sending out the DVD that debuted at the Blade Show. Has anyone got a chance to check out the entire thing? Perhaps someone grabbed a copy at the show. I've seen the short clip posted on the CR homepage. Looks pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

Eye candy...or pocket candy, depending on how you look at it.;)

yes, I picked on up at the show and watched both disks.

On the fixed blade disk there was a few minutes of military dashing around, I found it distracting, I just wanted to hear about knives. There was also some distracting music and title tone bursts which I thought was annoying.

However, all that aside, I enjoyed the disks. You really spend some time with Chris and family as well as Mr Harsey. You also get to see some sites around Idaho and Boise. PLus you get to see the steps involved and there's alot. It has a very friendlypersonal feel with was really nice.

Thanks Dave, sounds interesting. It's the Sebenza building process I'm curious about the most. The fixed bladed portion should be informitive as well. Other than the Harsey models being promoted more for the military, not sure why there would be video on type of any armed forces. We'll see...

I watched the DVD a couple of days ago and then again yesterday. If you have not gotten this DVD yet you need to! I highly recommend it. It is very well done and is very imformative. Well worth the 30 bucks in my opinion.

Yes, I've watched the whole thing twice as well and the Sebenza process(DVD disk 2) about 4 times. I knew the quality of Sebenza's were there, but watching the entire process gives you warm fuzzies. It really is amazing how much hand work goes into these. When Chris mades the comment about "How he can compete with the likes of Buck, Kershaw, Gerber, etc"...Well my friends, he's more than done it! Kind of cool too to put the faces with voices you talk to on the phone when I call.

All you Reevoholics need this video to be sure.

And the second disc is a Sebenza-lover's dream-come-true. Some of the narration loses itself in translation in that the team who filmed, produced, etc. the production is from Taiwan, but their camera work is absolutely outstanding. The DVD depicts every staff member as integral and critical without even trying to do so. Chris is a freakin' bada$$, not that you don't already know that. Thank you, once again CRK, for your excellence. You make the knives that people with OCD like myself can sleep thinking about.

All in all, I like my Sebenzas even more for having viewed it, having seen what goes into them.

Professor.

I also recommend buying the DVDs - I first thought about spendig the 30 bucks, but I enjoyed every minute of it. At some scenes I sat watching with my mouth open as I was told by my girlfriend.
