I got this idea from a thread about Emersons.

Movies:
Collateral - Tom Cruise uses a left-handed large classic Sebenza.

Television:
24 - A terrorist tortures Jack Bauer with a large regular Sebenza.

That's all I know; does anyone have anything else?

I never noticed Tom Cruise used a Sebenza in Collateral ...what scene was it in? Anybody have a screenshot or a link to one?

it was in the scene where they're in the bar. I think a cop ends up grabbing Cruise, and he pulls the Sebenza and stabs him in the leg (I think).

Yeah i remember that scene. Didnt spot that it was a CRK though.

From wikipedia:

* The CRK large Regular Sebenza was shown in the TV series 24 (TV series), season 6, episode 1.
* The CRK large Classic Sebenza was used in the movie Collateral (film).
* CRK Sable IV and Project I One Piece Knives were featured in the novel The American Zone, by L. Neil Smith.
* CRK One Piece Range of knives were referenced in the novel Point of Origin, by Patricia Cornwell.

Here it is in Collateral

I have a feeling that's all there is for books. I was searching Google Books and had a hard time finding anything.

So these aren't the best screen captures ever, but I was just watching Season 6 Episode 1 of 24 and when I saw the Sebenza I knew I had to post a shot or two here. I knew I'd find a thread where it was already mentioned.

I think Brad Thor has used a reference in atleast one of his novels too

one thing i thought was funny with the sebenza from "24" is that the bad guy opened a tool box, and pulled the sebenza out already opened. you can also see how blunted the tip is ;)

I guess I need to pay more attention to the movie "Collateral", I TOTALLY missed that. That was a really good movie. TC's gunhanding was spot on with the guys in the alley...Classic!

w/o the screenshots, its really difficult to see.

what's really interesting are the modded versions they used. there were a few with the blades ground off and rounded. i think there were 4 or 5.

That training seems extremely fun.

also, I hear that knives and swords are always dulled down for film, why don't they edit out the giant visible bevel? Haha im sure most never notice but I always see these dull blunt blades and as a sharpener it bothers me.

As for literature, I'm a big fan of F. Paul Wilsons "repairman jack" series. In the novel harbingers jack uses a Yarborough knife to accomplish a pretty nasty task. Not sure if this was a direct reference to reeve or just a name the author had heard before but as far as I know reeve is the only company that produces this knife.
