Both used but both in great equal condition(by pics only)...a have a small 21 crk already so leaning towards sng. Worried about blade play though(can't tell by pics)

Give me good and bad of both. Dang knife addiction!

I wouldn't worry about blade play with either folder. I don't even think CRKs can have blade play if you regularly service them(disassemble, clean, lube, reassemble, sharpen). My SnG had no play, but eventually it did develop a little side to side, but that's remedied with tightening the pivot. If there is then just send it in and the respective companies should be able to take care of it, but to be frank I've yet to have any positive experience from either company's customer service.

If you already have a feel for CRK then give Strider a try. I like Striders because it has a totally different feel(ergos) than any other folders on the market. The fact that YOU know that you Striders are not meant to be safequeens is a plus if you want to use your knife. They want to be used and collect scratches and dings. I like CRKs because of sheer craftsmanship, however I am not a fan of softer ran steel. I like low maintenance.

Choose the design that you like best. Things that folks bring up constantly but you don't really have to worry about: Striders blade play, CRKs soft as butter steel, Hinderers teflon washers. Non-issues.

I just think the Sebenza offers so much more than the SNG. Yeah, the SNG is super beefy, but who cares, it's a folder, not a fixed blade. The Sebenza carries easier, has a bigger blade, though not as beefy as the SNG, it will still handle any task a folder should be doing, the fit/finish is second to none. If you are going in thinking you may have problems with a $400 + knife, you may want to skip it. Don't get me wrong, the SNG is a good blade, but I think it's more than it needs to be. I'd also go for the lego version if your hands are anything bigger than small. If you want a CC version, go with the SMF. Good luck and let us know which way you go.

I've had quite a few of each brand. If you like "conservative...last forever" then go with the Sebbie.
If you like to drive fast and take a chance or two, then I'd say to get the flashier, much more tactical...Strider. Both are excellent brands.
Both will last forever...with maintenance. I think that they appeal to two very different personality types.

I had a sng and really tried to like it. It was super sturdy and had great ergonomics, so what's not to like? For me there was just too much handle and not enough cutting edge. My hands aren't huge, I'm 5'10" about 220lbs and wear size large gloves. When I choked up on it and used the finger choil on the blade I had a good amount of handle sticking out of my hand. When I choked down and held only the handle it was perfect...except so much of the potential cutting edge was lost in the finger choil. I bet if I had XL hands I'd love it, but I don't.

On the other hand, the Sebenza's balance of handle and cutting edge is great. A small Sebenza will provide nearly the same amount of cutting edge as an sng and a large would give you a LOT more.

In the end you just have to try it. Opinions vary and yours is the most important.

Well I wouldn't get a strider I have morals :) I respect the troops too much I'd go with the Chris Reeves
