Good morning fellow lovers of sharpened pieces of hardened steel!
I picked up a CRK Project II the other day and posted a few questions about it's value, rarity, if I got a good price on it, etc. I received some replies and my questions were answered. THANK YOU to everyone. I love the knife and I'm proud to have it in my collection, and, based on what everyone told me, I got it at a fair price.
Now, I've managed to pick up a CRK Mark IV 28 year Commemorative. The IKCA website says it's a 9.5 on the rarity scale of 1-10. That site said the Project II was an 8 and could be found a few times a year. That's right in line with what the experts here told me. Is this MK IV knife really that rare? Were there really only 250 of this commemorative made? I've seen Shadow I's go for as high as $1300.00.
I may keep one and sell one simply because I have other knives I want to buy, or keep the Mark IV and use the Project II in the field. Of course everything has a price and would be for sale, although I do love these knives.
Should the Mark IV be a safe queen? Is the value high enough (based on the 9.5 rating) to justify locking this away and willing it to my heirs? The IKCA rates it to be a safe inside a safe queen.
I need help PLEASE.
Thanks in advance from the Newb.
