How many different knives every day, like say a Sebenza, does the factory make? How many small Sebenza's would share the same birthday of say June 2, 2008? Thanks.

Well its all based on cookies each employee is given a cookie for each knife or part made. So it depends on how quick the Girl Scouts can supply cookies. I would say if you have 20 employees and you need 30 knives a day and 18 employees make parts one employee builds the knife and one ships the product thats 600 cookies needed not counting Chris or Anne. I really have no Idea Email Anne or Heather or better yet give them a call and report back. Also ask what kinda cookies they like so I can send them some and score brownie points...or would you say cookie points?

Here is the scoop:
- Including Chris and me, there are 18 of us on the staff.
- Rounding the numbers, but including all variations of each model, in 2008 we made 1,200 Large Sebenzas, 1,000 Small Sebenzas, 250 Mnanadis and 450 Umnumzaans.

.... and because I am sure someone will ask, we made a combined 4,700 fixed blades, of which a little over 800 are the Yarborough for US Army Special Forces.

I was wondering about this myself. Always on the quest for a knife born on my birthday.

The unknown is CRK's production schedule for each model. For example, there may be some days that only large Sebenza's are born.

I'd forgotten that post - thanks!

How do you know what day your Sebenza was born? On the inside scale mine says B 08. Is that a code for it's birthday?

I by pure chance and luck got one with my birthday !!

- they come with a card with the exact day of manufacturing !

The scale stamp only indicates what quarter and year the scale was made. The completed knife comes with a birth card.

On yours, "B08" indicates the scale was made in the second quarter of 2008.

I just got a knife.
When did they start doing the birth card? After 2008??

No the card has come with the knife for many years . Did you buy the knife new or used ? Thr card should be with The paperwork in the box!!

I bought it new. Maybe it was in the box.......I didn't get one of those either.

I believe the birth cards have always been used by CRK.

There originally was a card for your knife.

Where did you acquire it?

It's possible the original owner misplaced it.

You should have gotten one of these guys with it.

Yeah, it should have came with a box, tool, and birth card. Those are actually sort of important, in terms of resale.

Who said it's for sale:D. This is my only CRK. I don't need the box,or the birth card, but what tool? This is an EDC knife for me, so the collect ability doesn't matter, it would just be nice to have.

As a lefty I'm interested in knowing what percentage of CRK's are left-handed models.

I'd guess around 5%.

The allen wrench that fits the screws. Again, not a big deal. You can get one anywhere, if you don't already have one that fits.

If you ordered a new knife directly from CRK and gave them a few months notice, I bet they would try to accommodated your request. Give them a call and ask.
