So... some great newss for you guys!

1. Quality Award: Chris Reeve Knives

2. American Made Knife of the Year: Chris Reeve & Bill Harsey "Pacific" 1st SF Group

CONGRATS!

I really want to see a pic of this knife. There is nothing on the web that I can find at least.

I handled this blade and it felt very light and fast in hand. No pictures but found this description.

New from Chris Reeve Knives is another collaboration between Reeve and Bill Harsey. The “Pacific” is the civilian version of a knife the company is producing for the Special Forces 1st Infantry Group that is celebrating the group’s 50th anniversary this year. “Since the theater of operations for the Special Forces is usually Asia and the Pacific, it seemed like the ideal name,” Chris Reeve observes.

The Pacific’s full-tang 6-inch blade is CPM S30V and the handle is black canvas Micarta®. “It’s a good handle material,” Reeve says. “It can take a lot of heat without warping, and a lot of cold without drying or cracking.”

The knife features a thumb ramp allowing for a good, versatile grip and a pointed area on the butt of the handle that is great for breaking glass. “It’s really very subtle,” Reeve says of the glass-break feature. “Most people don’t even know it’s there.” The Pacific’s MSRP: $309

Thanks for the huge support that you have all given us -- you make it possible to even be in the running for these awards.

It's great to win the Manufacturing Quality Award -- quality is a core competence in our organization, and we continually strive to be the best on that front by a significant margin. The American-Made Knife of the Year Award had many very strong competitors being considered, and we are especially honored that the Pacific was selected for that award.

I will be out next week, and Chris, Anne, and Tim will be out for about a month on a much needed vacation. As soon as I can get a good digital image, I'll post it to this thread (unless someone beats me to it -- there were a lot of people snapping photos at Blade).

Best regards,

Dave, on behalf of the Bill, Chris, Anne, and the rest of the CRK staff

Indeed, you guys deserve a big pat on the back, as well as Bill Harsey. I still marvel how one can select a simple piece of steel for their canvas and, then produce a masterpiece such as the Yarborough, the Neil Roberts and, now this new "Pacific". I hope the collaboration between Reeves and Harsey continues for many years.

I can't wait to see this new knife. Or, should I say, I can't wait to own one.

Keep up the great work, and I hope the Reeve's enjoy their time off! Well earned.

Glad to see all your hard work and dedication continues to pay off. CRK's makes a great product and stands behind it 100%.

There is a picture of the Pacific in the new (Aug.) issue of Blade Magazine. Nice looking knife as usual from the boys at CRK.
