CRK Sebenza 21 vs 31 blade compatibility.

Hello everyone, kind of new here and got a question. I've been reading on the announcement of the 31 updates and the production halt of the 21. Now my question is if I purchased a 21 today and for some strange reason one day I needed a new blade, would a 31 blade fit?

Wondering as I'd like to purchase one as a memory/gift for life and would hate to discard it in the future because of blades availability. Thank y'all!
 
You could contact CRK and see if they will still fit a new blade in a 21. that way you could have a spare, either the same or different ,for down the line.....
 
They likely will have blades for repairs for some time. At some point as the stock dwindles they will stop doing elective replacements. I am not sure if they have completely run out of blades for the Regulars yet.
As with all things they will eventually run out of their stock, and it will be their decision to make or not make another batch. However if you care for your knife(don't abuse it) this should not be a problem that comes up.

I have two 21s. It’ll be sad when I have to retire it due to wear and tear and no more blades, but until then, it’ll be used and loved. I’ll have a 31 coming my way this coming Spring.
 
Well, it's kinda like this, by the time you'll need to replace a blade for the 21, they probably won't have any and you probably won't be around, but you kids will.
By then, they might have some 31 blades left. No telling what model will be out by then. Just saying.
I would think their keeping stock for warranty issues and down the road, may not sell any. But, who knows when that will be.
 
I just recently got back into CRK knives and had a similar dilemma. If the configuration you want is available in the early runs of the 31, I’d say wait. In my case what I wanted (left handed, carbon fiber scale, insingo blade) might be many months or even years away, so I jumped on the last remaining 21s small and large, though I couldn’t find a large lefty Insingo in CF. When the lefty 31s are available with insingo blades I’ll probably get one. 21s may even have gone up in value then, the way the Regular Sebenza has.
 
I believe the cut off was in September, but contact them anyway and ask. I just dropped $750 on some clean up of six 21s and four extra polished blades.

Extra blades? So they sent you back your knives, plus the polished blades on the side? I would love to have a back up blade for my Umnumzaan. I’m curious if that is an option.

Yep. Gave the PDWs a spa and got second blades, polished, on the xhatch and doppler and new blade for the Insingo. Call or email them to find out about your Um. Takes a minute.
