on the CRK website, this knife looks fantastic, but I went to do some research on it and could not find a single You tube video. Not one. I would like to purchase this as a gift for my dad, but I want to know if I am getting what I am paying. I trust Chris Reeve knives completely, but still would like some insight as to the quality and overall specifications. Has anybody had experience with the knife? (6.5" or 9")

I don't mean to offend, but those things are not only pretty hideous looking but seem kind of clunky with a .150 spine thickness and half height grind. If you are looking for a good kitchen knife in that price range, why not look at something like a 210mm Misono UX-10 and have some money left over for some wings and beers?

I love crk, but would never buy that knife. He makes great pocket knives, but he is not a chef or a chef knife maker.

Misono is a great budget knife company, I'd look into them first.

We know that you are a true knife guy because you referred to Misono as a "budget" option.:D

I've used the larger model and it sucked. You can start with one-sided chisel grinds are either right or left handled. Too bad if you aren't the right one.

They're great for chefs who are starting to learn their skills, before you get to the high end knives.

I would not want a chisel edge other than for cutting sashimi...

Look at the Zoe Crist offerings too. I bought my mom one and she loves it, good geometry and well done m390 steel.

A million choices, all better than the crk piece. Handled one at Freeport knife, no go....
