Just for sh#% and giggles..has anyone had to send there knife back to the shop as soon as they unboxed it,or within a week or so? I've known of makers that have typical problems, off center, sticky locks ..etc etc
But I'm sure it happens, but is it often? I personally haven't ever had a problem,I'm just curious.

Probably pretty rare for that to happen..I have never heard of it or read about it...but that doesn't mean much either.

I think they make mistakes like everyone - can't say that I'm impressed with the spa treatment. Just got my knife back today and it isn't any sharper than it was when I sent it in. Sent them a message on their contact page about it and am waiting for a reply.
It does look nice, but its not sharp - I've purchased a few new ones recently and they are like razors - this has a hard time cutting paper. I'm pretty suprised.

Absolutely they make mistakes..Being human, I would expect little more than mistakes along the way. IIRC, the sharpening is all by hand...many companies have machines that do this, so a knife on Monday may be a bit sharper than one on Thursday. Hate the comparison, but it's fairly valid

I did when I bought my BG-42 sebenza. It had been on display for a while. It needed a SPA treatment. They did a good job. Treatments are recommended every 10 years.

I have one at the spa now that I've never seen in person. That's a first for me. One of BF's finest bought it on my behalf, and sent it to the mothership at my request. I've had a few that I bought knowing they were going to go in, but they were used already.
