I am just wanting to confirm that it is ok to send folding knives in without the boxes. Obviously it would be wrapped in foam to prevent damage, but just wanting to confirm before I send tomorrow morning. I would call them but I know they are closed on weekends.

Thanks!

Im going to suggest that yes is the correct answer.

I suspect the majority of boxes get discarded by the average user. It wasnt until I got involved here on the exchange that I became concerned enough to begin saving them.

If not mistaken they will come back in a re-issued box and birth certificate.

There are no old-style boxes, so if it's boxed it will be in one of the new boxes. I believe that the card will show the refurb date rather than the original production date.

I just received my old style pivot Umnumzaan back from CRK. It was the first knife I've ever sent off for spa treatment and it came back looking brand new. What amazed me most is that they didn't charge me for anything but return shipping even though I had requested the re-blasting service and repair of my potentially over-extended lock bar. Yes, I was one of those idiots who bent it a bit in a moment of temporary insanity.

The bottom line to all this is that there is a reason I own eight CRKs with another one arriving this week. I couldn't be happier a happier customer.

I have a few protective cases (similar to Bill's Protective Cases) that I use to ship knives back to the spa. I can pack about 2-3 into a small USPS Priority box, depending on the models of course. Actually I have 3 there right now getting refreshed.
