I currently own a dozen CRK folders. They generally live in a Spyderco knife roll. But I think I'd like a hard sided case that I can keep them in. And just because I currently have a dozen, doesn't mean I won't end up with more. How are y'all storing yours? (Not interested in display stands ir cases at the moment. )

My regular use folders are in a Blade HQ jumbo roll on my bedroom door but backups, collectibles, most of my fixed blades, parts, and pretty much anything else that will likely not see regular use are kept boxed and in one of these Sterilite footlockers.

I picked up a pelican 1170 case and nalpak foam insert a while back and really like it. Fits large sebenzas and umnumzaans perfectly.

Do you keep crk lanyards on? Do they fit the nalpak on the large and zaan? I’ve heard conflicting stories.

Oh, no I don’t. I totally forgot about the lanyards. They definitely don’t fit well with them attached. They do fit with them attached (with a little bit of foam deformation) but you have to sort of angle the lanyards upwards a bit and give it some gas.

Thanks - this is helpful. I may end up getting a pelican and just laying them flat.

For clarity, my case has them lying on the spine horizontally, but if you got a case/foam set up that had them stored vertically (the drop in type) you could most certainly keep lanyards on them.

Thanks - those vertical ones haven’t really appealed to me but I might take another look. I feel like my mnandi would disappear.

Yeah it totally would. When I used to have a larger case I had some smaller knives that would jostle around when I carried it. I ended up going to a hobby shop and got some foam that I cut to sort of fill the gaps a bit. You might be able to do something similar and just throw some in the bottom of the hole to make the smaller knives more accessible.

Good luck on the hunt either way! Lots of good options out there.

Maybe consider a roll-away-toolbox? You could always set yourself the goal of filling it up with only CRK knives!

I'm a proponent of the Nalpak lined Pelican case. They are easy to take in and out of the safe, can be secured from interloping hands even outside the safe, are crush proof and water proof. I take some comfort in being organized, but also in the knowledge that nothing is subject to loss, rust or unintended use.

The pelican V100 has about 19 slots on two levels. As modern flame mentions it has features that provide protection and security. I usually put a dri-brix in my cases to absorb any moisture from opening and closing it.

Nanuk case all the way.Made in Canada and great for storage.I do have few,915,905..
