Is this knife a good value like most other CRK&T knives? This will be used for field dressing/hunting purposes.

Thanks

Man, this knife have won International Knife Award at IWA’2002 (March, Nuremberg, Germany) – one of the biggest (if not the biggest) and one of the most prestigious (if not the most prestigious) trade shows in Europe!
Definitely it can be used for field dressing because it is designed exactly for this purposes. Handling comfort is excellent, lockup is tight and reliable (with LAWKS additional safety), quality is on the normal CRKT level – this makes it very good value characteristic for all CRKT stuff.
However I would like it more with AUS-8 or VG-10 blade, AUS-6 doesn’t hold an edge so well and could lose a noticeable part of sharpness after you would open the game...

Thanks for the reply, Sergiusz!

I have a M-16 tanto from Colombia River, Its sorta my utility knife at the moment. I will admit that the blade could hold an edge a little better than it does.

This folder is pretty good. I have to say from experience that it is not made for heavy duty work though.
The full height hollow grind gives a nice thin edge that cuts and slices really well, but the blade itself suffers in the lateral strength area. The blade on my new Alaskan Bwana can best be described as a "semi-flex" blade.
I gouged out a half moon divot on the blade about 1/4" deep by 3/4" long on the first Alaskan Bwana I owned. It happened when I hit a really nasty knot on a piece of seasoned hardwood I was de-barking for a walking stick.:(
I really love the overall design of the knife but I am now hesitant to use it for more than light to medium duty type cutting and use. I kind of wish they would make a model with a blade a bit more stout.

If you can handle one before you buy it, check out the blade's thinness to see if it'll work for you.

All the best,
Mike U.
