I was just curious if any of you forumites have one of these,
or have had some sort of "hands on" with one, CRK&T is rather
reputable as far a knives go, but the "under $20" price makes me
a bit leary. Was the "Mo'Skeeter" made here in the U.S. or is it
a product of Taiwan? :( Or worse, communist China?:(
BTW : What the hell does "Mo'Skeeter" mean? ( I'm not from the
South originally ;))

Last week picked up a free Mo'Skeeter at a local cutlery shop I frequent that was having a giveaway for frequent customers. It is made in Taiwan, like most of CRKT's other offerings. As a knife, it is not too bad, though obviously not in the same league as the Spyderco Zytel knives. The action is pretty stiff, but seems solid enough, and the blade is scary sharp (I chose a plain version).

It seems like an okay knife...I'm not necessarily ga-ga over it, and have not yet carried or used it, but I was happy enough to get one for free! :)

BTW, I think Mo'skeeter means Mosquito.

Grabbed a few at the gun show for $10.For that money or $20 for that matter its not bad.Clip is a little on the narrow side for me,and some had a rough (gritty) opening. The thumb stud is very uncomfortable on the one that are harder to open, but you can open them with 2 hands to avoid this.

The blade was shaving sharp though, and the guys I gave or sold them to were happy with the knives.Aus-6,zytle for under $20 bucks, you could do worse.:)

Tried it. Hated the thumbstud. The edge was damn sharp though.
I'd think your money is better spent getting a M16 or as other suggested above.

I have one. At first I thought it was a Native knockoff, but you'll see it's not. For one thing, the size is very different, as is the quality. But for 1/2 the price of a Native, it's a great deal. Much better than any knockoff, Fury, Master, etc. Better than my Gerber EZout. My likes & dislike may contradict, but here goes:

I Like it for several reasons:
- I like lockbacks
- it's small enough for office EDC
- the stout (wide) blade will act like a bigger one in hard cutting
- great price point
- good utility blade shape
- good steel and plenty sharp
- ambi studs & clip
- thick handle stregthens the knife, and makes for a good hold on a small knife

I dislike it for several reasons:
- the handle is unnecessarily thick (thicker than the Delica)
- the stud is horrendous, sits almost right against the handle, making it hard to get at
- backspring is very strong, the action is clunky, combining the bad stud with the stiffness of Cold Steel with the 2 stage opening of an EZout, making it very clumsy, and apt to slip your thumb off
- the clip is worse than the stud - bright steel, about as wide as a pen clip, very tight, and actually comes to a blunt point sticking out. If you use the clip you will scratch everything you come near, if you put it in your pocket the pointed clip will wear a hole through your pants. (I put it in my pocket, after removing the clip.
