Just wanted to share some comparison shots and comments on my two newest toys...
A quick gripe of mine. I think it stinks these knives come from the factory with actions so tight/stiff. All other production knives I've owned (Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, Kershaw, Buck, etc) have been easy to open and relatively smooth right out of the box. Whereas the CRK's I've owned and this Strider were very difficult to open out of the box.
Moving on now... I've had the Umnumzaan for about two weeks. It started out almost unable to open and now it's smooth as butter. It really is sweet now, but it took a considerable amount of opening/closing to get it broken in. The SNG just arrived today and it's tight as drum as well. I'm sure after some time it will loosen/smooth out.
The Umnumzaan is about an ounce heavier than the SNG-GG. Approximately five versus four ounces, respectively. The Umnumzaan feels more substantial with both slabs being thicker titanium and heavier, versus the slimmer titanium opposite a G10 scale on the SNG. However, the SNG sports thicker blade stock and a wider handle.
For lack of a more descriptive adjective, these are cool knives!
Enjoy the shots.
