CRK- Why the search for specific date

Just curious besides the fact that the date you are looking for has some significance to you personally (dob, anniv, etc) is there any other reason why ppl search for specific dates on their CRK?

Are certain dates more valuable or just a personal need?
 
Without looking at the timeline thread, off the top of my head, a few of the things the dates can tell you:

Steel hardness
Steel type
Pivot style (Mnandi)
Nick style (Mnandi)
Clip style
Who likely made the UG
If it has an Idaho Made stamp
What style box it has
 
This seems to cover the other reasons ^^^
But most often it is just personal significance such as the birth of your child or something along those lines

I should have been more clearer i guess. I was aware of those differences in terms of timeline changes. Was curious if there was another. Tyvm for clarifying though
 
It's personal to people, nothing more. There's no added value to any build date.
 
Im in the market for my first CRK sebenza 21, the only date that matters to me is if its 2014 or earlier, it just a personal preference. I havent seen any difference in pre founder and post founder sebenza prices. I just want mine to be from when the man himself was still there.
