Here's the Story:

A little while back I was buying up all the Large Plain Regular's I could get my hands on. I had an opportunity to purchase a kind of unique Sebenza, well unique to me anyway and I jumped on the chance. It arrived and I immediately sent it of to CRK. Well this little gem or should I say large gem made its way back today and I was completely blown away by the service that I got.

I asked CRK to refurb the knife in a letter that I sent them with the knife, and was kidding around about adding a swedge for me in the letter. Well' um' uh, here it is. I was speechless, this is my favorite configuration Large Plain Regular with a swedge.

Sterile and swedged Large Regular. :D

I also got my Large Micarta 21 back as well with the new S35VN blade, I'll report back on it.

That swedge really does add to the look of the blade! Thumbs up from me :)

Very nice Antony. I am eagerly anticipating the return of my Seb from the spa as well. It had a slight makeover too and I can't wait to see how it turned out.

I'm happy to hear they took care of you and that you are pleased with your results. Thank you for the pictures. She's a beaut sporting those dbl thumb studs and that new swedge.

Very nice. Something Ill definitely consider doing to one of my sebs.
I love feeling the rounded spine on my fingers. But that swedge looks kickass.

Looks awesome. I love the large regular. I need to send mine in to get a refurb and now I am debating wether or not to get the swedge.

So this is the thread full of people hogging up all of the Large Regular Sebenzas :grumpy: :p

Great looking knife, J.

Tony,

That looks identical to my first CRK Sebenza. It's still my favorite one as well. A large Regular with a swedge! SWEET!!!!

Travis, m'boy, you've got a real winner there. That is about the sweetest plain Sebe I think I've seen (other than perhaps 1 other now residing with a good friend). Outstanding, and probably unique as well. Congrats

btw, how long do you think it will be before CR institutes a "no added swedge" policy?

One really cool piece of CR history that you might not be aware of is that the original H's had swedges (at least the ones I've seen). I tried to get CR to build me a 21 with those options (polished blade, silver hardware, & swedge) but was told that they will only do swedges on Regulars - meaning Annuals and maybe your knives. You must have asked reeeeeel nice!

Again, you've got an outstanding collection of Regulars going there, buddy. Keep it up!

BTW here's the knife I was talking about...

Steve that is awesome, is that the one Dan is taking care of for you.:D

H= Handmade? so that would make it a custom Sebie?. I would love to find me one of those.

Well, because this is your thread I suppose we can derail the conversation a little. H does indeed stand for "Handmade". In '91 they started the "P", or Production, lines beginning with the Larges. I believe there were around 87 H's IIRC, all numbered - H##. Amazing pieces of handiwork, especially since they were done without CNC machines and such. IMO, a polished blade + swedge + regular blade profile + 21 frame = Sebenza perfection.

This one is now actually a little more north and west of Dan. PM me and I'll fill you in.

I just sent a classic sebbie in for repairs and some cosmetic upgrades.
I asked if a swedge can be added in my letter so I guess well see if its
possible to get one on a knife other than a regular. Ill let you guys know how
it turns out.

What are the benefits of the swedge? The insingo has a swedge already right?

I talked with Heather the other day when I got my knife, and she told me that they only do the Regular blades, but I wish you luck.

Yes the Large Insingo does come swedged, just a different look to it because of the blade shape.

I use the swedge on my for cutting brown tape on boxes, scoring cardboard, just about anything I don't really want to put the blade on. I'm sure there are other benefits not to mention that looks pretty cool.:D
