So today I got a new kydex sheath from chestnut ridge knife shop for my beast bk2. It looks great and seems to be a better solution than that of the factory sheath. Well, until I put the sheath on my belt, and the knife in the sheath. I couldn't get the thing out no matter how hard I pulled. So I took it off and had to use every ounce of force to yank it out. Now does neone know if this Goliath retention grip will loosen or do I need to hit the gym? Im scared to try it again before I know since who knows if ill be able to get it out again without taking a hatchet to it. The sheath looks great and seems to be of high quality, that is if i can get my knife out of the damn thing.

Vitamin B12? :D

Kydex is easy to tweak. Just warm it up with a hair dryer a little at a time, and put some pressure to open the mouth of the sheath a little.
Just keep heating, pushing, and testing till you get it like you want it. Don't overheat it, or you could wind up with a mess.
I've adjusted numerous sheaths with this method.

A custom sheath should not do this. Break it in with 100 or so cycles of drawing/resheathing the knife, it should be good to go. If not, call them up. It will loosen up with time, I was really biting my ass about tthe piece of crap that I made with my first kydex sheath for my BK14, but after 2 months of using it every day I really like it. Good retention, positive snap-in.

I got a kydex sheath from them and it came with the hairdryer recommendation. Didnt yours? I was lucky; the fit was really nice with mine even with replacement scales.

i use a lighter, heat it up a couple of seconds on both sides with the knife in it. don't hold the flame too long or you'll scorch the kydex

if still tight just repeat 3 or 4 times.

I didnt read an paper work becuz i didnt think i needed instructions for a sheath :D ill have to look at the packaging

I know you prob don't want to hear this, but my custom kydex sheaths do not do that. They do not rattle at all---yet. One good quick pull & out they come. Once "unsnapped" it would fall right out if you tipped the sheath upside down. But on the other hand, each one cost more than the knife that is in it.
