Crkt 2010

link not working, but the new models are on their website.. they have some interesting stuff coming out..

Yes they do and I'm happy to hear you think so. There seems to be a prevailing ethos on this forum that any company that makes products that the average person can actuallly afford like CRKT, Sog, Cold Steel, Gerber etc is no good and should be the object of snide comments.
I was just in a magazine store today, looking at a couple of knife magazines that had no trouble printing positive reviews about some of the new Sog and CRKT offerings. But for some guys on this site, if a knife isn't made from some exotic steel [as if they could even tell the difference between 420J and HI] it's garbage.

My fave is the Centofznte Tribute. It looks really nice.

I also notice in the brochure that the CRKT marketeers sprinkle the word "custom" around like there's no tomorrow :)

It's funny. CRKT takes quite a bit of heat, but in my time as a user and enthusiast, I've owned more of their knives than I have owned knives by any other brand.
The ones that aren't pure novelty are actually pretty thought-through. Their Carson-series knives are among the best users you can find in that price range, and some of their past gentleman's knives have been very tasteful.

The Ripple looks neat. Acuto steel and IKBS for just over a hundred bucks gives me a reason to check out both of those things...
The dive knife looks pretty cool too, and has sandvick steel for seventy bucks. The Spyderco Caspian is higher on my to-buy list, but still. Damn.
And that Gekkota is going on the list as well. I was eyeing the ashworth turtle as a keychain knife, but this strikes me as an improvement.

I don't know that I like the new Hissatsu either. True, it looks ok, but the previous version looked awesome - at least enough for me to buy one. I like the new handle, but when you think about its mission profile, I'm not sure loosing the AUTOLawks and the teflon coating on the blade is a step forward.

The rest I could take or leave.

lots of good lookin stuff this year!, surprised not to see the ken onion collab weve been hearing so much about...

I like the look of the delegate and vertex line. It's cool to see more natural handle materials on modern folders.

I think that is a very interesting lineup for 2010.

CRKT is really a company that has been going up continuously in every aspect over the last few years.

I agree. They keep on taking bigger and bigger steps in the right direction, while keeping the prices mostly within the reach of the average buyer. I used to not like them so much--but that's changing fast.
