Hello everyone,
I just bought a CRKT 2703 'First Strike'
designed by Steve Corkum using Japanese aesthetics
ie. Cord wound handle and Jap blade shape.
I think the steel is 440A stainless
here is a screenshot:

The grind of the blade is a convex zero edge ... there is no bevel at the cutting edge.

So ...
How do I sharpen something like this?
All comments are very welcome.
Cheers.

You would get better responses in Mainteneance and Tinkering. A mod will probably be by soon to move this over there.

You can pick your angle and IMO a 15 degree per side bevel angle would work well or you can lay the whole bevel on the convexing tool and keep with what the factor has started.

Didn't realize this was your first post, welcome to BF :)

For convex sharpening you use sandpaper and a mouse pad or leather backing, they also make tools that work very well.
