Bingo. 'Hawks are not axes. They are weapons, not choppers. This one even calls itself "tactical." Are you going "tactical camping"? :)

There are plenty of great camp hatchets out there in a wide range of prices. Ask the fellas in the Outdoors or Axe forums for a recommendation.

yed and no

nobody tacical camps but me. next trip includes fire starting, coneo training sleeping out side in gortex bivy under a tarp. cooking from little tin cans

lol! it is true

after that we planning on getting lost in ca forest where people die all the time, since they do not prepare - fun hun? i do weird chit for fun.

ya, i think good eastwing would work better marcnick but the axe looks cool, ya i do all what they now call "primitive camping" i call it camping

bump

how about would you buy it or not - is also a good axe beside trenching and killing tool? weight is an issue when back packing so that is why i ask

thx!

gak - that is a weapon not a working tool. Hawks can be used for camping sure but if you want to process wood a hatchet works better.
