I picked up a Columbia River Knife & Tool 7073 yesterday. The Taiwanese made "Seahawk" has the serrated hook bill blade with a bead blasted finish. I like it. It slices through heavy cardboard, plastic packing straps, and various types of rope with little or no effort on my part. This ugly blade is a real workhorse and the look is growing on me. CRKT makes some great stuff for a great price. Oh yeah, I got it for 50% off so I'm even happier. Has anybody else handled a Seahawk?

Wow! I must have the only one. I feel pretty special. It is a great knife for about $40. The hooked blade catches everything I cut and pulls itself through. It should, it's a curve....the first part of a recurve.
The more I look at it, the prettier it gets. If I angle the blade just so I can see little sparkles reflecting from the blasted finish. This litle guy is really handy to have around. He may change my mind about serrated edges.....

from looking at it, i didn't like the blade to handle angle. but for $40 i could live with it. where did you get it for that price?

I got it at Plaza Cutlery, a retailer here in So.Cal. They had it on their closeout display. ATS 34 blade my friend. The blade looks weird when it is open. I thought it opened too far. When it is locked open, the tip is right in line with the handle. You can thrust and jab with this little fella! I was really surprised. Go CRKT......

Hey, I just found out there is a 7072 with a blade that's .87" longer than my new kid. How 'bout the big Seahawk? Any BF'ers played with one of these? My 7073 sure has a nice solid snap when it locks open. It slid through three layers of packing cardboard just now (needed to assemble the wife's new sewing table, and you thought knives were expensive...) without a qualm.
