CRKT and Gerry Mcginnis

Hey yall,

Firstly Im sure yall know of Gerry from either his customs http://www.mcginniscustomknives.com/ or from the CRKT Line up. I just wanted to see what yall thought about some of his blades. I think they look fantastic. I might have to get the new one from CRKT the Notorious http://www.crkt.com/McGinnis-Notorious-Satin-Blade-Gray-G10-Scales-Razor-Edge-OutBurst-Knife which is another McGinnis design. You can see most of his new and old designs on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSRkUs7TeCM&feature=sub&fmt=18 along with some the rest of the CRKT 2010 line.

Honestly I am not a huge fan of CRKT Knives for the simple facts that they dont have very good materials, and that many of their blades that i have handled have had messed up grinds and their fit and finish was sub-par. I dont mean to bad talk CRKT, the above are just my opinion.

Did yall know that Gerry is only 20 and a college student?

Sorry about the rambling I might have to make One of Gerry's customs my first hand made, non-production knife.

Well I have the Tuition and Summa and look forward to getting the Notorious and Premonition. I love his knives.

Ditto with two Tuitions and a Summa. I'm very much looking forward to his two new releases along with the Shrimp. The man has skills :thumbup:
 
Got to sit and talk with Gerry for about 20 minutes at the SHOT show. CRKT has some darn nice stuff coming out , and the folders designed by Gerry are very nice.

Indeed Gerry will be turning 21 soon , he may be what some consider young , but he has great knife making and design skills , is more knowledgeable on firearms that people twice his age , and is an all around great person to talk with.
 
that is what i figured the knives he makes are very impressive. and he looks like he is a nice guy. have you guys handled any of his custom knives?
 
I have the pleasure of calling him a friend , and yes I have handled quite a few of his customs and they are as fine as one could expect. He works hard at what he does , and it shows in his work , he is always looking for ways to take it up a notch.
 
Just out of curiousity, any idea of a price range for a custom by Gerry? Im just curious. i am on a very limited budget and any kind of purchase wont be for a while. As a recent grad of Clemson i am surprised that he has alot of time to make customs especially as an engineer.
