Looks like the local Wallyworld has most of it's Kershaws on sale to make room for some other brands. I found a knife called the Ripple from CRKT there. Also they now have the SOG Seal Pup and Trident folder. Funny thing, another forum member and I were just talking about how much longer it would be until SOG knives started showing up in Walmart stores. :D

Just an FYI the Walmart ripple seems to be different than the normal ripples, there was a thread here recently about it.

Glad your local wally world is getting some new stuff in, the one around here is extremely unimpressive.

sogs have been in walmarts for awhile now. a couple years plus or more, online and the stores near me, even before they popped up online.

remember be weary of walmart. they tend to have mnaufacturers cut corners to lower prices, without being blantantly obvious. always verify model numbers in the store to one's you are expecting to get. if they differ and are the same knife and not an obvious or expected variation...you can bet it's been cheaped up a bit. maybe not enough you'll ever notice, but realize you aren't paying less...just cause of volume buying.

I noticed that the Walmart Ripple is quite a bit cheaper than the one I've seen on line.

Thats not always true. Mobile 1 for instance is sold cheapest at walmart but is exactly the same as mobile 1 sold elsewhere. The same goes for various kershaw models, and even the Spyderco natives that were sold there for a while. Certainly something to be aware of though, as stuff like the ripple does happen.

It is about 1/2 as much as the original.
Haven't been able to handle one yet, but I gather the Wally is a linerlock vs the orginals framelock.
Both apparently use IKBS.
Not sure the handle and blade material are the same.
The pics I saw of the Wally seemed to sort of not mention the blade steel.

The WalMart Ripple has an AUS8 equivalent steel, a linerlock, and an aluminum handle.
