Picked up one this afternoon at my local B&M. First impressions have been very favorable. The fit and finish on it is first rate with everything lined up nicely, blade centered upon closing, no blade wobble upon opening, and a very smooth action. The auto LAWKS is a first for me but I guess it is fine as far as it goes. The button lock is really nice. It is very stiff as far as pushing in on it and it retracts out enough to really catch and lock the blade, while having a larger diameter locking button on the inside. Most button locks I've had experience with have a smaller diameter locking button, so the Anubis should have great lockup with more surface area being under the lock. The most noticable thing is the weight of this knife as it feels super solid in your hand from the extra heft. I also think that the zytel handles are starting to look better especially with the wood grain texture CRKT is using, just doesn't look so plasticty. Wasn't really razor sharp out of the box but a few licks on the Sharpmaker took care of it and it will readily slice paper and pop hair now. It is AUS8 so it should be fine as long as the heat treat was done correctly.

I'm not really a CRK&T person, but not "snobby" either, and I really like what they have done with the Anubis. I think it is a first rate knife that will make me a good beater blade. I'm looking forward to putting it through the paces!

Glad you are enjoying your new knife. I have eyed the Anubis as well , but I'll wait till they drop in price.
