I just picked one up. It seems like a good little knife for the money -$25 (I missed SMKW's closeout...). ATS34 blade...
Anybody have one? What are your opinions?
Thanks,
Rob

I bought one on sale from Smoky as well. It's a nice little folder -- razor-sharp blade, solid lock-up (though I haven't spine-whacked it or anything). The handle feels good in my hand. I have no complaints.

I have one with the 70/30 edge. Very sharp and stays that way. It is a very small knife, so the thumb stud opening can be a little awkward on occasion.

However, I have grown to HATE the CRKT heavy bead blast.

If you can afford a few dollars more, I think anthony cheeseboro (a fellow forumite) still has an S-2 small for sale (very old post). I bought my medium S-2 from anthony and am very happy with it. It has more like a "frost" bead blast, more like a satin finish.

I got the semi-serrated one with the Teflon coated blade: the "Limited Edition" .
You're right it is small, but I am getting used to it. I found out that the tip is sharp:eek: when I pulled it out of the box. There is enough play in the closed position that the tip can get just above the handle...
I liked it enough to pick up the Apache II as well...
Glutton for punishment I guess...

I bought mine when they first came out (and paid way too much!). It's a nice little knife though.

The grooves on the thumb/finger ramps let you know where you are and it's very solid for a single liner knife. Mine had mismatched bevels but the blade is still centered. Most of the terrible heavy bead blast has worn off now and I still carry it from time to time. I love anodized aluminum handles, the clip is all scratched and worn, but the slabs look like new. BTW - I carry it on my belt, so the clip is protected and the slabs are not. :)

For $25, a great little knife.
