I just spent the last 4-5 months selling off my crkt knives..i switched over to kershaw and benchmade..but last night i had to bid and win on a CRKT Apache, AT-34 steel blade, plain edge..its supposed to be rare and discontinued..got it for 48 bucks free shipping..i wanted it for under 40 bucks but its but that's ebay...

I handled large apache recently. It's great design. And it have some wicked teeth in full serrated version.

Btw. I find old, discontinued folders MUCH funnier to collect than current production, even limited edition ones.

I have one of their S2's. I'm tempted to throw it up there, considering how few of these they made. Rumor has it another company was none too happy when they found out what the "S" stood for...

yrs. back this knife was on cover of blade mag[i think] strong construction, good heat treat, quality. all of us bought several [friend is wholesaler] fairly heavy knife but great fit & finish.i remember we had'nt heard of ck&t until this release.it was in ats34 as mentioned. was around 3yrs. or longer before discontinued. the scales were aluminum i beleive. i forgot what the lock was since i have'nt had one for yrs. i think it was a liner lock.lots of us edc this for quite a while. the blade was grey anodized. the m16s came out & we all shirted to that mod.i think columbia must have sold 500,000 of m16 & thier variants.the apache i.m.o. was the best knife they made.

Well sounds like a well biult knife for CRKT...i am like the ATS-34 steel..most likely it will be just for the collection...

I've had an Apache for years with no problems, it gets crazy sharp and holds it well. Liner lock has held up fine. You got a steal, imho!

The CRKT Apache has the thinnest liner-lock I've ever seen on a knife. My Dad had one and he sold it awhile back, it was an OK knife but I wasn't impressed with that super thin liner-lock.

I handled an alpache for time ago and it was a little large for me but that sucker was sure sharp. The frame was awkward and the blade too long adn thin for me but it was good to see CRKT using ATS34. My first folder I bought for myself was a CRKT but other brands seemed to fit my interest better.

Had one years ago, loved it. Might still have it in a box downstairs........hmm, maybe I'll go revive the little bastard.

Apache is a great knife and the thickness of the liner lock doesn't matter if its well designed and all the Apaches I have seen have been well centered.

I have 2 PE ( 1 small 7001 & 1 large 7003)
I also have 2 SE (1 medium 7012 & 1 large 7013)
All are razor sharp. They have thin liners but all lock up solid. Definitely a steal @ $48!

My model is the 7023, its a bead blasted 3/4 serrated blade w/ double thumbstuds.

I have one still and a great value especially with materials used in its construction. It is an all ti frame lock that is well executed. Nothing thin about it. Just simple and practical and tactical at the same time. Keepem sharp
