CRKT Assisted Opening suggestions?

I've narrowed my search down to the CRKT AO's. I like the IgnitorT, but want a US made knife. I've been looking at Kit Carson M16 knives, but I read a review that said the thumb flipper is pointless without a spring to help, so then I got confused as to whether or not they're AO or not. Can someone clarify for me?

Forgot to mention I like thumb flippers over studs.

The M16 models are not assisted-opening. Also, the thumb studs aren't really that - they're blade stops. The M16's were intended to function as flippers. I don't know any of the current or recent CRKT models are made in the USA.
