CRKT BladeLOCK steel

Hi all, I’ve just one question. I love the BladeLOCK design made by CRKT the thing I can’t understand is why they use AUS 6. Do you know why CRKT uses this steel. I would like to see this knife in a better performing steel like ATS 34.

CRKT uses their AUS6M to keep costs down and appeal to the more cash-strapped market.

Although I agree, if the BladeLOCK were available in even AUS8A I'd buy it.
