I was thinking about ordering one of these, and called the seller to get some extra info and place the order. I just wanted to verify the blade length (edged portion), and he told me it was 5.5 inches or so, but that didn't seem to jive with any literature that I had read on that model elsewhere. That is only close to the OAL of one of the smaller models. I know they are mainly gun dealers, but I figured they know how to use a ruler:jerkit: Can anybody here verify the edged blade length on those? Here is a pic from the sweller of the model they are selling.

Also, can nayone tell me what's up with the top serrations? Are these double edged, or saw back, or etc................

The serrations are for finger grips- using the index finger along the length of the blade. It is most definately NOT 5 inches of blade- I have the carcajou and it is less than the Kobuk. I do not have any experience with your model but I really like the carcajou- although the sheath on mine is loose fitting and the short handle took me a while to get used to.

The top serrations near the handle back are for your thumb. The outer serrations I think can be used a match striker I think. Also I guess your thumb or fore finger for positive purchase for precise cuts. keepem sharp

I have the Discontinued version that has the Gut hook on the blade. The blade Length is approx 2 3/4" with an actual cutting edge of 2 1/2".

I like the look of the Leather sheath you have pictured, mine is the molded plastic one. I purchased mine several years ago and it has AUS 6, I think they now are made of AUS 4.
