Now, I know NJ's laws are debatable and frequently asked for, but I really like this knife and need to ask. Is this knife legal here? I believe it's assisted opening, and I read that such things are illegal, but my local Wal-Mart sells two assisted opening knives that I know of, so I don't know. Anyone know for sure?

It's not AO. It's the smaller M16 with a spear point. The blade is not spring-loaded. My M16-13Z is one of my favorite knives; you would never miss the spring assist as the blade opens easily and smoothly with a little flick of the Carson flipper. Without venturing to give legal advice, I doubt this knife, properly carried, is illegal in many US venues.
