Can anyone tell me if the First Strike (the small model) is double edged and whether the top edge is a false/sharp edge. Any other comments would be appreciated.

On the models I saw(all 3 sizes) it is an unsharpened false edge. The middle one still feels the best in my hand, but I really like the large model. What a solid chunk of steel!! Did they ever get the knives sharp out of the box?? That was the only concern I have heard, that the knives are dull, and take some work to get to a usable sharp edge. I would still like to pick one up someday, if I find the right stingray pattern. :)

After vowing never to buy any more cheap knives, I picked up a CRKT First Strike, model 2705 (the middle one) because I really like the looks of the knife. Overall, it was well worth the money, but the edge was horrible. It had a definite wire edge, rolled to one side, and wouldn't cut butter. After about half and hour on the ceramic sticks, I got it rough shaving sharp, but I think that's the best I can expect given the thickness of the blade and the fact that it has no edge bevel.
