Pat and Wes Crawford's Falcon folder as rendered by CRKT. 4" AUS-6 recurve blade, LAWKS Safety, textured Zytel scales with milling patterns and holes, and dual SS liners.

CRKT made a nice little niche by doing low-cost great-bang-for-the-buck custom reproductions. It is way past time they expand into the mid-range of the market by doing mid-range versions of their knives. Hell, even 8A would be a big improvement, much less 154CM.

Javier - I think so. I recall a forumite said he got his a while back. I think 1SKS and KnifeCenter may have them.

I picked up the mini-Falcon from Pat Crawford's table at last month's ECCK Show. It was one of 2 CRKT had sent him. Wes got the other one. CRKT did a real nice job with it.

I agree with Joe. I'd love to see it in a somewhat more high-end steel.

Thanks for the pics!

BTW, I also picked up the "real" mini-Falcon.:)

You're welcome, Javier. It really is a nice folder. It is nicer than I had anticipated! Glad to see they went with a satin finished blade instead of bead blasted.

I had pre-ordered one from 1SKS some time ago when I first saw the pictures on their site, but had no idea as to when they would be in stock. Would you believe I just received an email from them advising it was being sent out today! :) :)

Let us know what you think of it!

I received my model 6233 CRKT Crawford Falcon yesterday form 1 Stop. Not bad for a $40.00 knife, not bad at all. The knife reminds me a bit of the Emerson CQC-7 with the thumb disc and thumb ramp, except the handle has a more curved shape. The textured handle has is very comfortable and feels perfect for those with large hands like myself. Another noticable feature is that the scary sharp recurved blade has a nice satin finish which is a welcomed departure from the typical bead blast finish common on CRKT knives and can easily be opened with either right or left hand. The action is typical CRKT butter smooth and the blade locks with no play in any direction and comes with the LAWKS feature for added security. On my model the blade is not perfectly centered when closed, but it's no big deal for an inexpensive working knife. I really like this knife and have no problem with the fact that the steel is AUS-6. It makes the knife very affordable and easier to keep sharp. ;)

Got mine yesterday from knifeworks.com. They're great people to deal with. I like everything about this knife. The textured Zytel gives it a much richer feel than the KCF. The satin finish is a welcomed departure. Just like the CRKT Tigh Tac, the blade finish rivals more expensive knives (why can't BM get the satin finish right?). My only complaint is that the clip is not tight enough and the screws only fasten to the Zytel scale rather than into the liner. However, I was able to get the clip tight enough and some locktite seems to be keeping it that way. Hey at $35.99, how can I even complain? I can only imagine what the real Crawford must be like. I may just have to get one because everything about this design is a winner.

Joe I agree with you. I also added a bit of loctite to the pocket clip screws as well as the pivot screw. I was also able to fix my model so that the blade was centered perfectly in the handle when closed. I love the feel of this knife and I can only imagine what the handmade version must be like. Pat and Wes Crawford certainly came out with a winner and CRKT did a great job with the reproduction.
