Yesterday I received my CRKT Crawford Falcon from 1Stop and I thought I'd share my initial impressions of the folder. My model is the full size plain edge model 6233 with 4 inch AUS-6 blade, and LAWKS for added security. The overall design of the knife reminds me a bit of the Emerson CQC-7 with the thumb disc, thumb ramp, except the handle on the Falcon has more curve and has holes to lighen it. This knife feels great in the hand and the recurved edge cuts like no tommorrow.

For pics, see Dexter Ewing's thread:

The knife has a robust feel and is well balanced yet relatively lightweight and the action is as smooth as butter. On my model the lockup is tight with no blade play in any directon, but when closed, the blade is not perfectly centered in the handle, but that can be remedied.
One of the things I like about this knife is that the satin finish blade is a nice departure from the typical bead blast finish typical with CRKT knives and that the satin finished pocket clip allows the knife to ride deep in the pocket. The texture on the Zytel scales along with the holes and grooves allow for a good grip and there is a lanyard hole present.

This is one excellently designed working/tactical knife which again prooves to be a great buy for the money. There are no fancy hardwoods present, no carbon fibre, no titanium, no G-10, no state of the art steel; just black Zytel scales over steel liners and decent working steel. Not bad for the price. Not bad at all.

Javier: I absolutely agree. I have the smaller version which I picked up at Pat Crawford's table at last month's ECCK Show in NY. It was one of two that CRKT had shipped him. I also picked up the "real" mini-Falcon with the black micarta scales. The two knives are shockingly similar, except for price:eek: . CRKT did a great job duplicating Pat's work.

Enjoy the knife. CRKT continues to impress.:)

Javier - I agree with you, the satin finish is a nice touch. I don't know, from the photo on the CRKT site, the blade looks bead blast and I thought that's what it was. I was pleasantly surprised when I got mine and opened it up to see a satin finish. It's simply an awesome knife for the money.

I love the CRKTs because that's probably the only knives so far that I can afford easily (I don't have a PT job yet and running on student loans)
If they have knives that I have and like in like ATS34 or 154CM, that would be sweet.

Calyth, that's the whole purpose behind their product line. Awesome designs at affordable prices. I too would love to see more G-10, carbon fibre and higher grade steels, but I'm gald there are companies like CRKT that are producing great quality products at prices the average Joe can afford. Personally, I don't mind AUS-6. It's a good steel for a working knife and is easy to resharpen and should it get lost, it won't hurt the wallet as much.

Don't mind AUS 6 either.. give me chances to practice sharpening

You got that right, Dex. Thumbs up to CRKT, Pat and wes Crawford for an excellent design. I fixed mine so that the blade is centered in the handle when closed and the lockup is tight. It also did my own spine whack test and it passed. Great knife! :)
