Ok guys, I just got a CRKT Crawford Kasper, the 6783Z model. Thats suppose to be black and part serrated. I checked it, its marked correct. However the finish is still more of a gray like, whats the deal?

Is this normal? Anyone have one?

I know they make a model with a Gray like TINI finish, which is actually a little more. But I picked out the black teflon simply cause I like it better looks wise.

The only other CRKT I have is a Hammond Cruiser with tan scales and black(as in the way black should be) so I thought this would be the same.

Sounds like they/you mixed up the order. Be happy, Tini is way more durable than teflon and it won't flake off.

If it's like the Tini finish on a M1 I had, you should be very happy with it.

Perhaps.

However just wanna say, the order itself was not mixed up by any party. Receipt says 6783Z(black serrated), Box, and the model number on the knife blade. SO it is correct order in all respects.

I'm thinking either this A-the finish they go with now maybe on all. Or B-the Blade is mismarked/manufacuring mistake.

Either way. I'm not really unhappy with it. Its still non-reflective/low profile, but a nice change from the standards you see today. of black or satin. (which I almost always go for the black coating) Its looks good, black scales, grey blade. Also wow, the knife feels so damn yummy in the hand LOL. Wish they make some with better steel and such. Don't get me wrong it'll get it done, just would be nice to see a better steel as well. Man it has an awsome Handle. Great design.

Grey is correct.
I bought one a long time ago and it was the "Black" finish and it's a grey. It's correct, they just shade it differently. Most people expect a pitch black when it's really just a dull darker grey.
They didn't mess it up and it's not a mistake.

They do the same thing on the G-10 Drifter. It's supposed to be "black" but it's definitely a darker grey. They do this on a few on their M16 and M21 models as well.

Enjoy your new knife and enjoy that they didn't mess up your order. =]

Thank you.

SO just so I have this straight the "black" is just a darker grey..and the other is still grey but just a lighter shade? Thats an odd way of doing things. But either way if its correct, than its cool. It does still look real good.
