CRKT Crawford Kasper Professional vs. K model

I recently bought a CRKT C/K model K and got the Professional model as a gift. I'm posting here my general impressions of the 2 knives, and hoping that others who own or have handled either one or both of these knives can give their opinions too.

What surprised me about the Professional model is that the handle is actually more slippery than the K model (the K model has a Zytel handle but without a strong checkering pattern such as those found in Spyderco or Cold Steel). My experience with aluminum handles are based on MOD knives and Outdoor Edge Magna, which provide good grips. Can anyone tell me why the CRKT Professional handle is like that? My understanding is that the materials are the same (aluminum); if so, could the difference be due to the finishing process of the handle materials?

The K model has a better handle material/finish imo .. I can get a much better grip on this model. The clip is also better on the K model .. drawing is smooth. For some reason, when I try to draw the Professional model the clip seems to sort of snag .. could be because of how the clip is positioned in relation to the holes on the handle. However, the K model is somewhat heavy .. in terms of weight, I prefer the Professional model.

Anyone care to comment or share his/her experience with either one or both of these models? Thanks.

My only experience was with the Pro. I sold mine because I felt the grip was too slippery and i didn't want to stick skate board tape on it.

Had the K - Liked everything but it's edge holding ability (gave it to my son and bought a BM 710 HS.)

I really liked the feel of the KFF, and the LAWKES was VERY stout.
