I have problems closing the DOG with one hand. It's unlike the BM axis bolt, b/c I feel like on the axis lock the bolt is placed a little bit closer to the pivot. On the dog, the lock pushed farther back, so you have to kind of reach back w/ your thumb and forefinger to disengage. And the way it's hidden in the zytel scale doesn't make access any easier.

does anyone else have this issue, or have any suggestions?

thnx.

I own a DOG and love it!
The scales are slightly in the way, so I trimmed that "finger"
of scales that blocks the way off. When closing, if you let the
rear end of the handle settle into the heal of your palm you can then opperate the locking bar with much ease. Of coarse the size of ones hands will have some bearing on the effectiveness of this method.

It does take some practice to work the dogs lock, but I love mine. Im good enough to use the one hand, but unlike my axis locks, if the otehr hand is free, I usually do a two handed close on it. I still love mine, and it is a incredibally robust folder.

The placement of the lock release is the one problem I have with the DOG. I love the knife, but the lock release is too far back for me to comfortably operate it with one hand.
