This may be old news to everyone else, but I just saw that AG Russell is selling a small fixed blade, the RSK Mk5, in what appears to be a collaborative effort w/ CRKT. I thought all his stuff was BM through aeromedix?

According to the website:

The RSK Mk5 is a collaborative effort based on Georgia knifemaker David White's custom Shrewd Survival Knife, itself the result of collaboration with Dr. Andrew Osbourne.

The RSK Mk5™ (Ritter Survival Knife) is not a knife you would use all day for normal work tasks. But, based on Doug's philosophy that "if it isn't with you, it can't save you™," it is compact and light enough to fit in almost any small personal survival kit or stash-away location, yet robust enough that it's a knife you can bet your life on™.

I bet you guys knew this already, didn't you?:)

it's designed to work with the amk pocket survival kit. he shows you how to fit it all in the tin. its actually a very smooth set up with both items for around 50 bucks you can have both shipped to your door and it has a good amount of stuff for altoid tin. i have both on order and will hopefully have the opportunity to do a review when they get in.

supposedly later in february they are suppose to be selling the whole kit. either way it would be a nice knife if you had nothing else. a type your going out walking in the woods and you throw it in your pocket and forget about it till your lost and need it :)

Thanks for the replies. It's obvious I'm behind the curve on this. I didn't even know it existed. It's interesting that it was designed to fit in an Altoid's tin. I can see that it could certainly justify its place in a small psk.

Looking forward to your reviews, Marion & grunt soldier.

Sorry to be a pain but the specs and the pic don't jibe. BL 1 3/4" OAL 2 1/4"??

Is there a typo in there somewhere? The handle looks longer than 1/2" :p

Thanks.

EDIT: OAL 3.81" Got it.

Glad you found the correct OAL. I just wrote what was printed on the website. Sorry for the confusion.:o

Here is Doug Ritter's full description:

http://www.dougritter.com/rsk_mk5.htm

It was low-cost enough that I bought two. Its a really nice little fixed blade knife.

BTW, CRKT had a tolerancing problem with the sheaths for a while. Owners are asked to test the sheath tightness by using a paper clip to create a two-ended S-hook, use the paper clip to hook the handle cord to the opening tab on a can of soda, and while holding on to the sheath try to lift the can of soda. Be careful not to get in the way of the blade if it falls out of the sheath ... Doug suggests doing the test on the floor to be safe.

If the blade slips out of the sheath, then you should contact CRKT at info@crkt.com or 1-800-891-3100 and ask for a new sheath.

Here are the details from Doug:
