CRKT Drfiter SS version vs. G-10 version

Hi all!

I am about to buy small and pretty cheap EDC knife for light tasks. eBay has nice looking CRKT Drifter that seems to suit light tasks well. G-10 with linerlock is about $25-30+ Shipping. I really like G-10 handles.

Stainless Steel version has two advantages over G-10: Cheaper price ( $34 including International Shipping ) and it has framelock instead G-10's linerlock. I'd like to get my first framelock knife too and I don't have Steel handle knives yet.

I am about to order either one but I am bit hesitant and I'd like some input from peoples who do know betterthan I do. So far I am leaning towards the Stainless Steel version because its cheaper and has frame lock and thus giving better value than G-10 handled version.

I don't mind little extra weight but I've given impression here that Framelock is preferred over Linerlock's?
 
Thanks for the link. Shop has both version G-10 and SS version at same price. Edit: the review was very good. I think I go for Stailess Steel due its frame lock and thinner profile.

It is odd, but the SS version and G 10 versions feel like completely different knives, not even related to one another.

The G10 feels like a little, light use knife.

The SS feels like a knife machined out of a block of metal. I bought the SS, and have been using it pretty hard for the last 8 months. It was $21 at the gun show, and I was really impressed by the knife's construction.

I use it in my work, and it hasn't disappointed me. I had to reprofile the edge as it was simply too blunt to be a good slicer. While it isn't a great slicer now (most saber grinds aren't) it is a good slicer, and the blade holds an edge surprisingly well. It is easy to sharpen, and even in my sweaty pocket, it hasn't rusted or even spotted. Best of all, it still locks up like a tank.

The G10 version felt like a little toy next to it, so I am glad I went with the sturdier knife.

So, SS version it is. I am sucker for things that lock up solidly or have build quality of an tank... Closer the King Tiger the better ^^
