Hi, guys, this is going to be my first post here at BF. I've been looking at the Drifter for some time now and the Scamp just recently caught my eye. I haven't been able to find many reviews on the scamp and I was hoping that you guys could help me out with some of your opinions on either knife.

-How are the ergonomicss on the Scamp?
-How is the heat treat of the steel, how does it perform?
-Any other info/opinions are greatly appreciated, thanks!:)

That's great, thanks! Right now I'm leaning towards the Scamp, b/c the knife will probably be doing slightly harder than normal edc work occasionally. It seems beefier, and I like the hollow grinding as opposed to the flat mid spine grinding. What are your opinions on the knives?

I had a Scamp for a while. I ended up giving it to my brother who was in need of a pretty decent knife for not a whole lot of money (i.e. free). I had a bunch of other stuff in my "what-shold-I-carry-Today" pile, so I parted ways with the Scamp.

Truth be told, I kept wondering if I made a mistake. It felt really good in my hand, and the lockup was really good. It's basically a steel framelock design with a G-10 & steel non-locking scale. The blade flies open pretty quickly, and the blade profile seems pretty useful. So like I say, I sometimes wonder if I should have kept it after all. . .

The blade came reeeaalllyyy sharp, but I never had a chance to put it to the test, so I can't speak to the edge holding, but I would say that it's on par with anything else using 8Cr13MoV, which means it'll be pretty decent.

But yeah, for the $35 I paid for it, I would say it's a definite good buy.

I guess it really depends on what you need. If you need a beefier knife go with the scamp. If you prefer a small, light edc then go with the drifter. I only own the drifter but you will be hard pressed to find a better value than the 15 dollar drifter.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to go for the scamp. I don't need an edc, more of an around the house/ outdoor work knife. I edc a SAK simply because it doesn't scare the sheeple :P

EDIT: I forgot to ask, does the G10 on the Scamp give you any extra traction? I'm asking because it's on the non-palm side and to me that would seem to make it not as effective. Not that this is going to be a SD knife, I know there's no thumb ramp or jimping.
