I don't own any CRKT knives.I watched several reviews on this knife and I am thinking of getting it for edc carry. It is a great price and it is a framelock.I was just wondering if any of you guys have this knife and what are your thoughts and opinions. Thanks :D

I got one. They are nice for the price. Think I paid $10 on the bay for it. very fast opening. The detent on it is perfect. If you thumb it past the detent, then the blade will open all the way fast. steel is bottom of the barrel. But for 10 bucks what do you want. Mine came sharper then hell out the box. Also one of the best things is that it doesn't say anywhere where it was made. I assume Taiwan. Oh and did I say it opens fast. I don't usually carry mine because of the clip on it. Sits too low and is too strong. Hope this helps

I will agree with Socom for the most part. I think it's a great knife for the price - deploys super fast, keeps an edge better than would be expected for the price, and is really light. The strength of my clip is just right, but I don't like the tip-down only carry option. For my full youtube review go here:

If you're looking for a small EDC knife, you could do a lot worse than the drifter. Good luck :)

I have a Stainless Handle Drifter and have used it for a EDC. Edge holds up descent for the $ that comes out of your pocket. Overall you should not regret it and always upgrade :D

Thanks guys,Anybody else have an opinion. rwATR I watched your review early in the day.

Not sure my opinion is worth much in this instance, I'm not familiar with the Drifter, and I don't carry any of the 4 CRKT's that I own.

In general, they seem to be OK for the price, Mine are all made in Taiwan. They are very sharp out of the box, but not sure how they would hold up under day to day use.

Depending on what you need/want the knife for, a CRKT may fit the bill just fine.

Sounds like the Drifter is pretty moderately priced, so give it a try, if it turns out you don't like it, you haven't lost a lot.

Here are mine.

Just ordered a Drifter myself.

I saw your review before and you mention the Drifter would not do well under hard use.
But you never explain why you think so.

When I think of "hard use" I picture difficult tasks. I mainly said it wouldn't perform well b/c of its size. I can't get all of my hand on the handle and the blade is rather small.

It's just a personal preference thing. If I was doing a task that required me using a lot of force or was difficult for some reason, I would like a larger blade/handle like the Spyderco Tenacious.

I apologize if my answer isn't very concrete. I don't have any facts to base my opinion on b/c I never really thrashed on it. Hope it helped anyway

Most certainly did. Could be it was because the knife wasn't build for hard use like thin liners, or whatever. That I would not like. But being to small doesn't bother me; I like smaller knifes.

I picked on up recently and really like it for the price. I use it for open packages/boxes and alike. I have the G10 model and feels good in the hand (for a small knife) and opens very well for how low cost. I may pick a few more just to have around the house/car/etc.
